A Thoughtful, Integrative Approach to Therapy
Therapy is an intimate and meaningful process. I consider it a privilege to be invited into people’s lives at moments of vulnerability, transition, and change, and I take that responsibility seriously.
I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker, certified psychoanalytic psychotherapist and psychoanalyst, and certified couples counselor. My work is grounded in psychodynamic and psychoanalytic traditions, while also drawing from a wide range of contemporary, evidence-based approaches. I believe that lasting change happens when we understand both why patterns exist and how they continue to shape our emotional lives and relationships.
In addition to my clinical practice, I’m a faculty member at the Center for Psychotherapy and Psychoanalysis of New Jersey (CPPNJ), where I teach emerging therapists. Remaining actively engaged in teaching, learning, and peer consultation is central to how I practice; I regularly attend conferences, participate in psychoanalytic reading groups, pursue advanced coursework, and engage in ongoing supervision.
My Practice
I work with adults and couples navigating depression, anxiety, trauma, grief, relational conflict, and periods of significant transition. I have particular experience supporting individuals and families connected to adoption across the life cycle, including adoptees, adoptive parents, and birth parents; this work is informed both professionally and personally, as I am an adoptive parent myself.
While my foundation is psychodynamic and psychoanalytic, I integrate additional modalities as clinically appropriate, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Somatic Experiencing, Focusing, Mindfulness-based approaches, Internal Family Systems (IFS), Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT), Imago Therapy, and Grief Counseling, including work with prolonged and complicated grief.
